20 Most Instagrammable Places in George Town, Penang



Ever wonder where did your friend took that awesome #POTD photo? We saw a lot of similar posting about these instagram-worthy location especially in Singapore. But Penang? Hmm, not much. Therefore i would like to share my own personal instagram-worthy moment in George please read this post my own.

1. Tan Clan Jetty - Weld Quay, Georgetown 
Woke up early morning to go to this place. Tan Jetty in Weld Quay, less popular compared to Chew Jetty but definitely a spot to watch sunrise. 






2. Gim Chuan Hin - Lebuh Acheh, George Town
Once you finish jalan-jalan at the jetty enjoying sunrise, proceed and walk to Lebuh Acheh. Below photo taken near the parking lot (it is visible from the main road) 


3. Lot next to Sushi Kitchen - Lebuh Acheh
From the jetty, passing by the green door (above photo) you will encounter with this one.


4. Moonlight Cafe - Lebuh Acheh, George Town
The lot is next to Moonlight Cafe. Features a beautiful red windows and bricks, a must to if your are into #minimalism


5. Wall of cups (in front of My Own Cafe) - Lebuh Canon.

9. Khoo Kongsi Temple - Red Door (Left side - right before the grand stair)

10. Khoo Kongsi Temple - Alley on the way to the temple.
Once you see it you know you got to have it!

11. Hin Bus Depot - Outside the art gallery next to the green space.

12. Hin Bus Depot - Thomas Powell creation, next to the green space 
Where you can see the mini skate park inside a somewhat an abandoned ruined building (do take my word seriously, otherwise you imagination will go wild)

13. Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion - first floor
As someone or your friend to take your photo from the otherside, makesure it's all align, and a good lighting too.

15. Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion - The Side Desk
Next to the front desk. A nyonya table i like to call.

18. Pinang Peranakan Mansion - The Marble Wall
This one a little bit tricky, well not actually. this marble wall and fountain located inside the shop. If you jenis tak tau malu (like us), just go a strike a pose!

19. Pinang Peranakan Mansion - The Clan Temple (Ancient Door)
Once you got into this mansion, go straight to the back alley until you found an entrance with a wooden door.

20. Pinang Peranakan Mansion - The Clan Temple 
Same place, different angle. This one you have to sit at one of the chair at the gallery (temple).
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• The mansion sits on a land belonging to the headquarters of the Ghee Hin Clan which in fact was his rival. The ancestral temple which he built next to the mansion was formerly a Chinese school.
